Kareo Adds $55M In Funding

Irvine-based Kareo , the developer of cloud-based software used to manage medical practices, said this morning that it has raised $55.4M in a new funding round. The funding was led by Montreux Equity Partners, and also included Silver Lake Partners and the company's existing investors. Kareo, which is led by Dan Rodriguez, offers up cloud-based software used by small and other independent medical practices to manage all of their billing and operations.

RFaxis Ties With Silicon Labs On Reference Designs

Irvine-based RF semiconductor developer RFaxis has rolled out a new reference design with fellow chip maker Silicon Labs , to support a new Internet-of-Things application. RfAxis said its RF front-end reference designs connect with Silicon Labs' ZigBee and Threat EM35x mesh networking products. Those products are used in deploying Internet-of-Things mesh networks, and those reference designs are used by engineers to design their own versions of equipment which connects into those networks.
