Neighbor.com Launches Peer-to-Peer Self-Storage In LA

Need some place to store your extra stuff, but don't want to pay for self storage? A new startup, Neighbor.com, said Wednesday morning that it has launched a new service in Los Angeles, which will let users share empty space in their garage with their neighbors. The company--which says it is an "Airbnb-like storage platform"--lets local "renters" in need of storage space in touch with nearby "hosts" willing to lease extra storage space in their home, for everything from boats, to furniture, to "extra stuff". Neighbor.com claims that hosts can make up to $15,000 a year on their extra space. The startup says it is building out a team in LA, which will be led by its Chief Marketing Officer, Preston Alder. The company's headquarters are in Utah, in the region which bills itself the "Silicon Slopes".
