Tinder Agrees To Share Data With Russia

Los Angeles-based dating app developer Tinder has agreed to store data for its Russian users in Russia--and also allow the Russian government and intelligence agencies with that data, as part of an effort by the government there to force more tech companies to share data. According to a report in Wired, Tinder was added by Russian communications censor Roskomnadzor to a list of 175 other companies who have agreed to share data with Russia. Wired says the move is part of an effort by the Russian government to pressure other companies--such as Facebook and Twitter--to also share information with its agencies.
