Grindr Sells Majority Stake To Chinese Gaming Firm For $93M

Los Angeles-based mobile dating app developer Grindr has raised $93M for its gay dating apps, from Chinese gaming firm Beijing Kunlun Tech Co. Grindr said late Monday that it sold a 60% stake in the company to Beijing Kunlun Tech Co., valuing the company at $155M. Grindr told its users that it would be "business as usual" for the firm, which had previously been entirely self funded.

mPulse Gets $10M For Mobile Health Software

Los Angeles-based mPulse a developer of mobile software to help health plans better communicate with their clients, has raised $10M in a Series A funding round. The funding came from HLM Venture Partners, along with OCA Ventures, Merrick Ventures and Jumpstart Ventures. mPulse is led by Chris Nicholson. The company's mobile software is used by health plans and pharmaceutical companies, and counts the Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) and Kaiser as customers.

Virtium Launches New Solid State Drives

Rancho Santa Margarita-based solid state disk drive manufacturer Virtium said today that it has launched a new line of industrial, SSD hard drives. Virtium said its new, StorFly XE Class SSDs are aimed at industrial system designers, and use multi-level cell (iMLC) technology, and can handle industrial temperatures of between -40C to 85C. The new dries range from 30Gb to 480GB, and support M.2, CFast, Mini Card, mSATA, SlimSATA, as well as 1.8" and 2.5" form factors.
