Petco Names Digital, E-Commerce Head

San Diego-based pet supply retailer Petco has named Darren MacDonald as the company's new Chief Digital and Innovation Officer, according to the company, to head up its e-commerce, app, prescription fulfillment, as well as employer wellness benefits offerings. MacDonald was most recently at Walmart, managing that company's e-commerce entertainment business; he also was founder and CEO of Ingress Capital Incorporation, an online private placement marketplace; and also served as CEO of the Pronto Network at IAC, a shopping comparison engine. MacDonald also has served at Avery Dennison. According to Petco, MacDonald will also help the company focus on incubating new ideas and furthering innovation across the company.
