Bird Launches New Electric Bike, The Bird Cruiser

It's a bird, it's a plane... no, it's an electric bike. Santa Monica-based Bird said on Tuesday that it is introducing a new product, the Bird Cruiser, an electric bicycle with a "cushioned seat for two". According to Bird, the new electric vehicle has 20-inch wheels and a full suspension, and will join the company's fleet of shared vehicles this summer. Bird did not say exactly when it will roll out the new electric vehicle, which comes on top of the company's existing scooters. The addition of the new, two-wheeled vehicle puts Bird on par with other, startups in the electric vehicle space with two-wheeled vehicles, including Wheels, the two-wheeled EV firm led by Wag co-founders Jonathan and Josh Viner, as well as longtime rival Lime (originally known as Limebike, for its two-wheeled EVs).
