SimpliPhi Aims Energy Storage Products At Power Shutoff Areas

Oxnard-based SimpliPhi Power, a manufacturer of Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) batteries, says that it is ramping up its manufacturing efforts, and providing discounts to consumers in California who are being affected by wildfire "Public Safety Power Shutoffs". According to the manufacturer, its is increasing storage capacity of its units to 3.8 kWh and 2.9 kWh, and also lowering prices, to encourage purchase of its batteries, which it claims are the safest lithium-based battery technology on the market. The company did not announce any details on the pricing of its battery storage units. The company's technology competes against such other products as Tesla's Powerwall. SimpliPhi also offers up off-the-shelf, portable power packs, with a 296Wh unit for $1627, and a 1140 Wh unit for $3129. SimpliPhi did not detail the types of discounted prices it will offer up to California homeowners for its batteries.
