Esri Adds Indoor Mapping Support For Retail Analytics

Redlands-based GIS software developer Esri says it has tied with another software developer, GISinc, in a move to provide indoor mapping of customers for retailers. According to Esri, the partnership with GISinc will help retailers increase sales by analyzing customer behavior, using data collected by GISinc's indoor mapping capabilities using sensor-enabled overhead smart lighting and opt-in mobile data from customer phones.
