Yardi Launches Housing Registry For Hurricane Irma

Santa Barbara-based real estate software developer Yardi says it has launched yet another website to help victims of a hurricane find housing. Yardi said that it has launched a dedicated housing registry for people who were displayed by Hurricane Irma, to help them find temporary or permanent homes in the affected and surrounding areas. The site is the second created by Yardi in the last two weeks for victims of a hurricane. Yardi also created a similar website for those who were affected by Hurricane Harvey, in Texas, two weeks ago. Yardi said it will not charge housing providers to list their properties, or for residents to use the site. Both hurricanes had a major impact on housing availability, with fairly widespread damage to homes, apartments, and other buildings. One estimate says Harvey damaged or destroyed 134,506 homes in the Houston MSA alone and Irma damaged up to 90 percent of the homes in the Florida Keys.
