ResMed Acquires Brightree For $800M

San Diego-based medical device provider ResMed has acquired healthcare software developer Brightree , in a deal worth $800M, according to the companies. ResMed said it will pay $800M in cash for ResMed, which had net sales of approximately $113M in 2015. Brightree develops business management and clinicla software for the post-acute care industry, for managing home and durable medical equipment, home health, and hospice, and was based in Atlanta.

Warner Bros. Acquires DramaFever

Burbank-based Warner Bros. said Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired DramaFever , an online, video-on-demand company focused on Korean dramas, Kpop, and other related content. Financial details of the deal were not announced. Time Warner said it will continue to run DramaFever under its own brand, with operations based in New York. DramaFever offers up subscription access to Korean television and film dramas, to both U.S. and other audiences.

Thrive Market: $100M Run Rate, 180,000 Paid Members

Los Angeles-based health food and products retailer Thrive Market has just hit a $100M run rate, and now has 180,000 paid members, according to co-founder and co-CEO Nick Green. Green, speaking at the Recurring Revenue Conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday, said that the company is growing rapidly, adding 30,000 paid members a month. Thrive Market is backed by Greycroft Partners, Scripps Network, Powerplant Ventures, as well as over 200 angel investors.

OpenX Launches Mobile Ad Product

Los Angeles-based programmatic advertising marketplace and technology provider OpenX has rolled out a new product aimed at the mobile app market, according to the company. OpenX said it has launched OpenX Bidder for Apps, an extension of its software for the desktop and mobile web, which works on mobile app inventory. OpenX did not say which platforms the new software works on.

SpaceX Aims For Wednesday Launch

Hawthorne-based SpaceX is in the midst of pre-flight checks for its next launch, scheduled for Wednesday from Florida. According to NASA, SpaceX had a static firing of its rocket on Monday, in preparation for that launch. SpaceX is preparing to launch the SES-9 satellite. NASA said the first launch window on Wednesday is between 18:46 to 20:23 Eastern.

Razer Raises $75M From Chinese Company

Irvine-based videogame accessory and products maker Razer has raised $75M from Chinese company Hangzhou Liason Interactive , according to Hangzhou Liason. Other details of the investment were not announced. Hangzhou Liason Interactive is a provider of application software development, systems integration, and technical services. The investment reportedly values Razer at $1.5 billion, adding the company to Southern California's growing list of unicorns.

Carlsbad-based ViaSat , the satellite Internet services provider, has signed on Qantas Airways as a new customer, the company said late Monday. According to ViaSat, it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), where it iwll provider in-flight internet connectivity to Qantas on its domestic flights. Financial impact of the deal were not disclosed.
