SolarReserve Gets Approval For 260MW Chilean Energy Plant

Los Angeles-based utility-scale solar power developer SolarReserve said last week that it has received environmental approval for a huge, 260MW solar energy plant in Chile. According to SolarReserve, the Chilean government approved the Copiapo Solar Project, whichi s epxected to go into commercial operation in 2019. AeroVironment Wins $47M Army Award

Monrovia, California-based unmanned aerial aircraft maker AeroVironment has scored another big defense contract, reporting this morning that it has won $47M in contract awards from the U.S. Army. According to the drone maker, the contracts are for its RQ-11B Raven and RQ-20A Puma AE, which are used for providing situational awareness to soldiers. The awards goes toward sustainment of the unmanned aircraft, which are used for low altitude surveillance and reconnaissance.
