Katzenberg Team Offers Quibi Details

Quibi, the new streaming service coming from Jeffery Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, will cost $5 for an ad-supported version and $8 without ads, Variety reports. The platform will launch in April 2020.

New Projects on the Agenda for SpaceX

Hawthorne-based SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket will take off June 24 and carry an atomic clock to deep space for Pasadena-based Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Techcrunch reports. An additional payload launches a satellite into orbit with eco-friendly fuel, an attempt to prove renewable resources can withstand space.

Pluto TV to Launch Latino Programming

Mid-Wilshire-based streaming service Pluto TV will launch a new ad-supported streaming channel for Latino viewers this July. The Hollywood Reporter notes Pluto Latino is the company’s first push into Latin American markets and was originally slated to launch this summer. Pluto TV operates as a subsidiary of Viacom Inc. after the latter paid $340 million for it in January.
