RealDefense Acquires STOPzilla

Santa Monica-based RealDefense, which runs a number of different companies focused on security, privacy, and optimization software, said Tuesday that it has acquired STOPzilla. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. STOPzilla is a developer of cybersecurity software. RealDefense also owns such brands as IOLO, MyCleanID, MyCleanPC, USTechSupport, CyberDefender, VirusFix, and WarrantyStar. According to RealDefense, STOPzilla has over two million active customers, and was founded in 2001. RealDefense is led by CEO Gary Guseinov. The company said the acquisition was backed by Corbel Capital Partners.
