Professional Sports Authenticator Buys Genamint

Newport Beach-based Professional Sports Authenticator, a company that provides rading card, autograph and memorabilia authentication and grading services, said yesterday that it has acquired software developer Genamint, which develops technology to automatically grade trading cards. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Genamint's technology automatically analyzes trading cards, providing diagnostics, measurements, and detect alterations or other changes made to a card's surface in an effort to assist human graders. According to PSA, the acquisition will help assist in its backlog of trading card submissions. As part of the acquisition, PSA said it has appointed Genamint's founder, Kevin Lenane, as VP of Product Management at the company.
