Rocket Lab Launches Effort To Explore Venus

Huntington Beach-based Rocket Lab, the space launch startup led by Peter Beck, is aiming at beating NASA to Venus, in the hopes of helping to search for extraterrestrial life. According to Beck, it plans to dispatch its own space probe to Venus, to "scout for signs of extraterrestrial life". Rocket Lab apparently has been working on the Venus mission for several months. Rocket Lab joins Hawthorne-based SpaceX in its desire for exploring space; SpaceX founder Elon Musk has set his eyes on colonizing Mars.
