ServiceNow Acquires Passage AI

ServiceNow, the developer of information technology service management software which has major operatinos in San Diego, has acquired Mountain View-based Passage AI, a developer of conversational AI tools. Financial details of the buy were not announced. According to ServiceNow, the deal will help it advanced its own artificial intelligence capabilities, including the addition of support for all major languages on its platform. Passage AI was founded in 2016 and had received funding from Blumberg Capital, Storm Ventures, Engineering Capital, 11.2 Capital, Milliways Ventures, and Array Ventures, among others. ServiceNow said it expects to complete the acquisition by the end of Q1. The acquisition is the second AI acquisition announced by ServiceNow in the past week; just last week, the company announced the acquisition of Loom Systems, another developer of artificial intelligence software.
