Bird Debuts Monthly Scooter Rentals In SFO, Barcelona

Really love using that electric scooter parked outside your office? Santa Monica-based scooter rental service Bird has just started offering up its scooters on a monthly basis--rather than per-use--in a test in San Francisco and Barcelona. According to Bird, it will allow its users to rent Bird scooters for a month, or more, for a mere $24.99 a month in San Francisco, letting riders use the scooters for unlimited rides and letting users store those scooters at home. Bird says it will even deliver a "personal Bird" to users' homes, and offer up a Bluetooth lock for their devices. Bird did not say if or when the service will be available to its markets in Southern California, but is taking "wait list" signups for the service on its website.
