Beyond Meat Rolls Out New Product, Beyond Beef

El Segundo-based Beyond Meat, the startup which is developing plant-based meat alternatives, says it has launched a brand new product called Beyond Beef. According to the company, the new product has the taste and texture of ground beef, but has 25 percent less saturated fat than beef, and also only uses plant-based ingredients. Beyond Meat's products are known for their "meaty" taste and texture of meat, and are made out of a blend of pea, mung bean, and rice proteins. Beyond Meat, which recently filed for an IPO, counts a long list of celebrity investors, including Kyrie Irving, Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Paul, DeAndre Hopkins, Victor Oladipo, Lindsey Vonn, DeAndre Jordan, JaVale McGee, Harrison Barnes, Malcolm Jenkins, Derrick & Charity Morgan, Alex Honnold, Shaun White, Luke Walton, JJ Redick, Tony Gonzales, Leonardo DiCaprio, Thomas Middleditch, David Wright, Eric Bledsoe, Maya Moore, Tia Blanco, April Ross, Maggie Vessey, Snoop Dogg, Common, Jessica Chastain, Liza Koshy and Nicole Williams.
