Viasat Wins Deal With UK's Royal Navy

San Diego-based satellite communications provider Viasat reported a win with the UK's Royal Navy this morning, saying it will provide the ultra high frequency satellite communications equipment on a Royal Navy Type 31 Frigate. Financial details of the contract were not announced. The company said it will provide Ultra High Frequency (UHF) satellite communications (SATCOM) for the new Type 31 frigates, to be delivered by Babcock Team 31, for the Royal Navy. The system will be used to provide both voice and data between Royal Navy vessels. The contract was through Viasat's UK arm, Viasat UK Ltd.
