Esri Offers Free GIS Training

Redlands-based Esri, the developer of geographical information systems (GIS) software, says it will offer up free access to its popular ArcGIS platform, as well as training resources, to any professionals who have been furloughed from work during the COVID-19 outbreak. According to Esri, individuals can request access to the free software and lessons through June 30th. Esri--which powers the popular Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 tracker, as well as many other online mapping/visualization tools--said the free GIS training and access is aimed at GIS professionals who are affected by work disruptions, and who may want to build new skills can benefit from these lessons, as would any workers who may not yet have geospatial experience but want to explore a career in GIS.
