Green Dot Taps Former Walmart Exec As Chief Product Officer

Pasadena-based Green Dot Corporation, which offers up banking services, and is best known for its prepaid Mastercard products, has named former Walmart executive Daniel Eckert as Executive Vice President & Chief Product, Strategy and Development Officer. Green Dot said Eckert will be responsible for product vision, strategy, design and development, and business development activities. Eckert previously spent 10 years at Walmart, and helped create TailFin Labs, LLC, a joint venture between Walmart and Green Dot focused on consumer financial services. Eckert also ran Walmart's fintech point-of-sale platform, Walmart2Walmart / Walmart2World Money Transfer services, Walmart Pay, and GoBank & Prize Savings with Green Dot.
