Soylent Swaps Out CEO

Los Angeles-based food replacement and nutrition products maker Soylent announced this week that it has swapped out its CEO, Bryan Crowley, and replaced him with its CFO, Demir Vangelov. According to Soylent, the move is part of an effort by the company to "re-focus on our core products" and to help it improve its current product line and bring "some truly innovative ideas off the shelf and into the market". Demir has been the company's CFO and also served in its COO role over the last two years. Soylent is venture backed by such companies as GV (formerly, Google Ventures), Tao Capital Partners, Lerer Hippeau Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz. The company has been focusing on offering up its nutritionally complete products to both its core market of gamers and other people on the go, as well as those just looking for a more sustainable meal replacement products, including bars, drinks, and other products.
