Miso Robotics Looks Towards Crowdfunding For $30M

Pasadena-based robot developer Miso Robotics is turning towards equity crowdfunding for its next fundraise, the company said this week. Miso--known for its kitchen assistant robot, Flippy--says it has started opening up reservations for a new equity crowdfunding round. The funding is also being supported by Wavemaker Labs, the "startup studio" arm of investment firm Wavemaker Ventures. Miso Robotics is led by CEO and co-founder Buck Jordan, and already has raised $15M in earlier round of funding. Those earlier funding rounds came from Wavemaker Labs, MAG Ventures, and CaliGroup. CaliGroup is the parent company of fast food chain CaliBurger, which has said it is planning to use "Flippy" in more than 50 of its locations. Miso Robotics says it has also installed its robot at Dodger Stadium and Chase Field in Phoenix.
