SmartAction Names Gary Davis As CEO

Los Angeles-based software developer SmartAction, which develops conversational, AI-powered virtual agents for contact centers, said this morning that it has named Gary Davis as its CEO. Davis was previously the company's President, and earlier had served as Chief Operating Officer. SmartAction is backed by private equity firms Staley Capital and TVC Capital. The company went through a management recapitalization in February of 2018. SmartAction's cloud-based software is used to automate customer service communications on phone, SMS, web chat, Facebook Messenger, and Skype. The company was previously led by CEO Tom Lewis; the company did not say where Lewis has departed to.
