Honk: Many American Drivers Still Not Driving

Los Angeles-based HONK, an app-based service which connects motorists with roadside assistance and towing, says that American drivers are still not driving as much as they did--even as most lockdowns have been loosened. According to HONK, it ran a survey showing that 45 percent of American drivers are fueling their vehicles no more than once a month. The company says the survye shows that most American drivers are reluctant to resume normal activity despite quarantine sanctions being loosened or lifted. The company said that, prior to the pandemic, 56% of survey respondents filled up at least once a week, and 11% filled up once a month or less; now, just 25% of respondents fill up at least once a week, and 45% fill up once per month or less. HONK said it surveyed 719 motorists from May 15th to June 4th. HONK connects motorists with towing services.
