EDF Renewables Puts Wind Project Online In Minnesota

San Diego-based renewable energy developer EDF Renewables North America says it has put new, 100 megawatt (MW) wind project online in Minnesota. According to EDF Renewables, the Stoneray Wind Project, based in Pipestone and Murray counties in Southwestern Minnesota, will be delivering power to the Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA) beginning in 2020 under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). When running at full capacity, the new wind turbines will produce enough energy to power around 47,000 average Minnesota homes. EDF Renewables did not say how much it invested to develop the new project, which includes 39 wind turbines from Siemens Gamesa. The company says the new project is the twelfth wind project in Minnesota, which now has a total of over 1.6 GW of wind operated by EDF Renewables.
