Fisker Adds Former U.S. Representive Dick Gephardt As Advisor

Los Angeles-based Fisker, the newly reborn electric vehicle manufacturer led by Henrik Fisker, said on Monday that it has added former U.S. Representative, Richard (Dick) Gephardt as an advisor to the company. Gephardt, who previously was a member of the board of Ford Motor Company, has been a consultant to Fisker over the last five months, according to the firm. Gephardt is head of his own firm, Gephardt Group, which provides consulting services in the area of labor relations and public policy. According to Fisker, it is working on a line of affordable vehicles, which it says will be priced "well below" $40,000, and is hoping to ultimately ship more than 250,000 vehicles a year. Fisker received a strategic investment from Caterpillar Venture Capital back in October of 2018, specifically so that Caterpillar could gain access to Fisker's battery technology. Fisker relaunched in 2015 after Henrik Fisker's last company, Fisker Automotive, went into bankruptcy and was sold to a Chinese bidder.
