Rotohog Powers ABC's The Bachelor

Los Angeles-based Rotohog , the online fantasy sports games firm headed by Kelly Perdew, launched a new online game for ABC's "The Bachelor" this week. The firm, which runs online fantasy games, is powering the "Rose Ceremony Game", an online promotion by ABC which pits viewers against each other in predicting who will receive a rose from The Bachelor in the show.

Irvine-based RFaxis , a semiconductor developer focused on the wireless market, said Tuesday that it has rolled out a new generation of its CMOS, RF Front End Integrated Circuits. The firm said its new BiCMOS RFIC is scheduled for delivery in early 2010, and provides a fully integrated, RF front-end for wireless networks in the Bluetooth, WLAN, 802.11n/MIMO, Zigbee, WiMAX, WHDI, and mobile phone (CDMA/WCDMA/EDGE/Evolved EDGE/LTE-3G/GSM) markets.

Irvine-based eEye , a developer of security and vulnerability management software, said today that it has named a new CEO, CFO, and VP of Strategy. The firm said it has appointed Kevin Hickey as CEO, replacing Kamal Arafeh. The firm also said it has named Tyler Hanson as its Chief Financial Officer, and Brad Hibbert as Vice President of Strategy. Broadcom To Pay $160.5M to Settle Class Action Lawsuit

Irvine-based Broadcom reported Tuesday that the firm has agreed to settle a class action, securities lawsuit against the firm, in exchange for a $160.5M cash payment. The lawsuit was related to stock options backdating. As part of the settlement, Broadcom said it continues to deny any liability or wrongdoing. The class action suit was filed by investors who bought or acquired shares of Broadcom between July 21, 2005 and July 13, 2006.

Brickfish Lands $3.0M More

San Diego-based Brickfish , which provides online marketing campaigns for brands, has raised another $3.0M in funding, according to a regulatory filing by the firm last week. No details on the funding have been announced, however, the firm now lists OCA Ventures, Rincon Venture Partners, and Baroda Ventures as backers on its web site. OCA's James Dugan and Rincon's Jim Andelman have joined the firm's board along with the funding, according to the filing.

DDi Completes Coretec Buy

Anaheim-based DDi Corp. , a provider of printed circuit board engineering and manufacturing, said Thursdy that it has completed its acquisition of fellow PCB manufacturing firm Coretec. The deal was worth CDN $25.2M, made up of $7.4M CDN in cash plus assumption of CDN $17.8M of Coretec's debt. DDi said it would buy Coretec in October.
