OMG. This is super funny. I wrote the post below after work. I had to race to meet my wife for dinner & a movie (we have “date night&# once / week) and went to see Town (which was awesome). I figured I needed time to spell check and edit before publishing so I would hit publish when I got home. Wow! I returned to my house, flipped on my Mac and see AngelGate, The Sequel.

No board member should be grandfathered, guaranteed a board seat forever. Practically speaking, this is an impossible goal. We have investigated the restrictions imposed by investment documents and the obvious need to keep continuity on the board with the retention of the CEO position at the very least. But it would be the best of form to require in the bylaws of a corporation that all seats are re-elected annually.

So, I’ve been married, 3x. My first wife, we were young, it ended. It was hardly enigmatic. No kids. I wish her well. So, I married again, the mother of my oldest boy Jacob. That ended too, not as smoothly as the first, but we all got through it. We both love Jacob, live less than a mile from one another and share his time wisely. Manhattan Beach-based Morphlabs , the developer of cloud computing software run by Winston Damarillo, announced this morning that it has released a "significant upgrade" to its mCloud Controller product. The firm said the release simplifies the process of building and managing internal cloud computing environments. Santa Monica-based Factual , the open data startup headed by Gil Elbaz, the inventor of Google's AdSense technology, said today that it has launched a new open set of data that the firm says provides geo-coded data for 14 million local U.S. businesses. Factual said that the data set helps developers gain access to information which had previously been difficult to license, due to multiple vendors and licensing requirements.

Move, Inc. , the operator of online real estate sites Move.com and Realtor.com, said today that it has acquired Threewide Corp. , operator of ListHub , an online real estate syndication service for brokers, real estate franchises, and multiple listing services (MLSs). The deal was worth $13M in cash. Move--which has major operations in Westlake Village--said the acquisition will allow it to deliver greater value to its customers.

El Segundo-based Internet Brands , the Internet media firm headed by Bob Brisco, has been acquired by private equity firm Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners, in a deal worth approximately $640M. According to Internet Brands, Hellman & Friedman will pay $13.35 in cash for each outstanding share of common stock of the firm. The price is a premium of approximately 46.5 percent over its closing price Friday.

Every new startup I know dreams of being funded by an angel investor. Yet according to the latest data from AngelSoft , only about 3 out of 100 companies who initiate the formal request process actually get funded. The AngelSoft Deal Funnel from the last 12 months indicates is that 70% of the interested companies never make it past the initial screening process.
