How would like to edit your videos from any device or browser?  Better yet, how would you like to have multiple contributors and all be able to collaborate on a video editing project in the cloud?  I know I would and now can with recently launched cloud video editor WeVideo.

WeVideo offers up a powerful Flash-based video editing application currently available through any web browser, and according to CEO Jostein Svendsen, will also be available in native applications on all iPhone & Android mobile devices as well.

Jostein Svendsen stated, “This is one of the most powerful cloud-based applications on the web,”  “It was built ground up from the cloud and lets you do an incredible amount of complex tasks in the browser.”

We asked Svendsen about the perviously known company Creaza and why the name change to WeVideo?  “We wanted to emphasize that this is about sharing and editing video projects in groups.” stated Svendsen.  In Europe, Creaza was focused on offering an education product. Creaza still offers an education product, but WeVideo is a different venture. Svendsen wants to focus WeVideo specifically to its consumers by communicating what the service offers in the name itself.

Svendson said what makes WeVideo better then the other guys (Animoto and YouTube video editor) is its depth of tools, the amount of devices it can be accessed though and its ability to support most digital video formats. Believe me, Its as close to Final Cut Pro as it gets.

WeVideo is self-funded, with the co-founders putting up a total of $1.4 million, quite an amazing sign that the founders really believe in their product. When asked if they were looking for funding Svendsen said the company is in talks with “some of the largest VC funds” in Silicon Valley, with a new funding round in the process.

The service offers several levels of pricing, with a free tier focused on low-demanding consumers all the way up to $79.99/month tier that focuses on professional-grade editing. The pricing is as follows:

• Free / $0 a month / 1GB storage / 640×360 resolution
• Plus / $6.99 a month / 10GB storage / 852×480 resolution
• Ultra / $39.99 a month / 50GB storage / 1280×720 resolution
• Commercial / $79.99 a month / 50GB storage / 1280×120 resolution / commercial licence
