Hyundai Launching New Car Sharing Business In LA

Hyundai is getting set to launch a new, car-sharing service in Los Angeles, called Mocean Carshare, the company said this week, ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show. According to Hyundai, its new venture, MoceanLab, will initially launch with 20, plug-in-hybrid vehicles, with plans to eventually include 300 electric vehicles in its fleet, according to the auto maker. According to Mocean Carshare, the new service will center on an app, which allows users to upload their driver's license and gain approval to use its vehicles, and allows users to book and unlock vehicles as needed, with a return of those vehicles back to where they found them. Mocean Carshare says its initial locations in Los Angeles will be located at Union Station, Westlake, 7th/Metro, and Pershing Square.
