Snap Launches Multiplayer Gaming Effort

Santa Monica-based Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, said on Thursday that it has launched a new offering called Snap Games, which will offer up real-time, multiplayer gaming to users of Snapchat. According to Snap, the new games will feature both original games for its platform, as well as games from such third party developers as Game Closure, PikPok, Spry Fox, Zeptolab, and Zynga. The new multiplayer gaming effort was among a number of announcements by Snap on Thursday of new features for its popular social communications platform. Snap's own, real time multiplayer gaming effort is called Bitmoji Party, which Snap says will let its users use their Bitmojis to compete against such games as "Pool Part", "Kick Off", "Spin Session" and "Zombie Escape".
