'Not one to be shy about grand visions, technology mogul Elon Musk unveiled his plans this afternoon for Hyperloop , a system for transporting people from Los Angeles to San Francisco in mere minutes, using aluminum pods which are sent at speeds of up to 800 miles per hour between the cities. In plans he released Monday afternoon, Musk said that Hyperloop would transport people between San Francisco and Los Angeles in only 30 minutes, using an elevated track above the I-5.

'Every time I challenge a business plan with little or no budget for marketing, I get the answer that they will be using “viral” marketing, which costs nothing. The founder explains that the product is so “buzz-worthy” that usage will spread rapidly through word-of-mouth only, meaning people loving it and recommending it to their friends. 'Los Angeles-based SnapMD , the startup helping to connect patients with doctors via cloud-based telemedicine software, has raised $600,000 in a seed funding round, the firm said Thursday. The funding came from Shea Ventures, the venture capital arm of J.F. Shea Company, as well as the Whittier Trust. 'Aliso Viejo-based Arkami , the company behind the MyIDKey Kickstarter project which stores passwords and online IDs on a secure Bluetooth and USB drive, has raised $1.8M in a funding round, the firm said Tuesday. According to Arkami, the funding came from Gordon Clemons, McNeel Capital and Mark Swanson. Arkami was created by technology veterans Tareq Risheq and Mark Thacker, and had originally raised money via Kickstarter for its secure, USB drive.
