Cicero Diagnostics Finds $1M In SBIR Grant

Huntington Beach-based Cicero Diagnostics, a company developing women's healthcare diagnostics, has received $1M in a Phase II SBIR Fast Track grant, from the National Institutions of Health (NIH), the company announced this morning. The company said the grant will go towards further research on its efforts to monitor biomarkers for unexplained infertility, failed implantation, and recurrent pregnancy loss. The company says that it is commercializing protein markers to assess uterine receptivity impacted by endometriosis inflammation which it says helps women successfully achieve pregnancy. The company said it already is offering up its test to over 300 fertility centers, used to assessing uterine lining dysfunction typically caused by endometriosis without the cost and invasiveness of surgical laparoscopy.
