LA's Boundless Mind Acquired By Thrive Global

Los Angeles-based artificial intelligence developer Boundless Mind, which is uses AI to personalize the interaction of users on apps, has been acquired by New York-based Thrive Global, a startup founded by Arianna Huffington focused on behavior change. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Boundless Mind's artificial intelligence software had been aimed at increasing the engagement of users with apps, using neuroscience and AI to personalize apps for users, and increasing usage of those apps. Boundless Mind had said that it could "predictably change your user's behavior with AI". According to Thrive Global, the acquisition will go to help it build a behavior change technology platform which leverages data collection and the application of the latest science to end the stress and burnout epidemic and help individuals and organizations unlock their full potential. As part of the acquisition, Thrive Global said it has raised a new round of funding, led by JAZZ Venture Partners. Size of that investment was not announced. As part of the acquisition, Boundless investors IVP, Marc Benioff, Ray Dalio, and Kevin Durant will become investors in Thrive Global, with investor Daniel Loeb and Expanse CEO Tim Junio also investing in the round. Boundless will continue to have offices in Los Angeles, and become part of Thrive Global's product and engineering team, according to the companies. Boundless Mind was formerly known as Dopamine Labs.
