Endera Deploys EV Shuttles At San Diego International Airport

San Diego-based commercial electric vehicle developer Endera announced this week that it has delivered 18, all-electric passenger shuttles for use at San Diego International Airport, which it says is the largest deployment of electric shuttles at a U.S. airport so far. The company said the shuttles--which are going to be used by ACE Parking--are the first of a total of 29 all-electric vehicles planned for the site. Endera said ACE Parking, which manages the airport's shuttle fleet, is purchasing the electric shuttles to replace existing LPG (liquified petroleum gas) and CNG (compressed natural gas) fleet. Endera says its shuttles are based on the Ford F-550 platform with a body built by Diamond Coach. California recently adopted a new rule, the California's Zero-Emission Airport Shuttle Regulation, which requires airport shuttle operators to transition to 100% zero emissions vehicle by 2035.
