RepairSmith Launches In LA, Backed By Funding From Daimler AG

Los Angeles-based RepairSmith, which offers mobile automotive maintenance and repair services, has launched its services in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the company said on Wednesday. The startup is backed by Daimler AG, and offers up online pricing of services, online scheduling, and servicing of a vehicle at a customer's home, work, or at a shop. Size of the investment by Daimler AG was not announced, although RepairSmith called the the backing a "major investment commitment". RepairSmith is led by CEO Joel Milne. According to the startup, it does not rely on the "gig economy" for its workers--its mechanics have full time hours, and are equipped with company vehicles and tools. Daimler AG is the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, among others.
