Sequoia Games Snags Series A

Los Angeles-based game studio Sequoia Games says it has raised a Series A round of funding, from such angels as Mark Mastrov (founder of 24 Hour Fitness), Steve Kokinos (CEO of Algorand), George Ruan (founder of Honey, recently acquired by PayPal), as well as Borderless Capital, KittyHawk Ventures, and Citta Capital. According to the company, it is developing licensed sports gaming titles, which fuse professional sports and augmented reality. The company says it has created an officially-licensed board game created in partnership with the NBA and National Basketball Players Association
