Broadband In LA Fine, But San Diego Slows Down Due To Remote Work

The home Internet connections and speeds in Los Angeles are holding up fairly well even as the city--like many others around the country--shift towards remote work, although San Diego's network performance has degraded, as more and more people are working from their home offices. According to Broadbandnow, although millions of users are shifting to residential Internet service, the speed of those Internet connections is "holding steady". The exceptions are Houston, San Diego, San Jose, and New York City, where download speeds are lower than the previous 10 weeks. Broadbandnow said it used raw speed test data from Mlabs for the top 10 cities by population in the U.S. Thousands of companies have asked their employees to work remotely as the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak continues to spread nationwide.
