The Boring Company Aims To Connect Red Line, Dodger Stadium

The Boring Company, the Los Angeles company founded by Elon Musk to create underground transportation systems, said late Wednesday evening that it is proposing a new, high speed, underground public transportation system specifically designed to connect Los Feliz, East Hollywood, or Rampart Village neighborhoods to Dodger Stadium. According to The Boring Company, the system would connect the Red Line to Dodger Stadium, allowing fans to get to Dodger Stadium in under 4 minutes. The company said the idea behind the "Dugout Loop" is to provide a "clean and efficient" public transportation option to Dodger Stadium, and will run under Vin Scully Avenue and Sunset Boulevard. The Boring Company said the proposed system would run approximately 3.6 miles, with the exact location of the center near the Red Line to be determined. In its description of its proposal, The Boring Company said the system will be based on "electric skates", which would carry between 8 and 16 passengers, traveling at 125 to 150 miles per hour. The tunnel will be entirely financed by The Boring Company, which said it hopes to charge just $1 to ride the system.
