Acrew Adds Richard Wolpert As Venture Partner

Acrew Capital, a Bay Area venture capital investor, said this morning that it has added longtime Los Angeles venture investor Richard Wolpert as a Venture Partner at the firm. Wolpert spent the last 16 years as a venture partner at Accel, has his own seed investment fund, Chance Technologies, and has made investments in such companies as Scopely, Replicated, The Immortals, Snap Credit, SteadyMD, inVia Robotics, Volley, Looped Live, Scener, and Lunar Crush, as well as Bridg (acq. by Cardlytics) and Jukin Media (acq. by Trusted Brand Media). Acrew Capital says it was founded with a "core value" of diversity, with 63% of the Acrew investing team are underrepresented minorities and 88% are women or PoC. The firm said its team's track record includes 10 IPOs, over 25 successful acquisitions and over 150 rounds of follow-on capital raises. Acrew's current portfolio includes Cato Networks, Exabeam, Aqua, and Forescout, Chime, Divvy, Finix, At-Bay, Orum, Deserve, Pie Insurance, Gusto, Discord, Snapcommerce, HotelTonight/Airbnb and the RealReal. Wolpert says he will be involved across Acrew's portfolio, but will also be bringing Los Angeles startups to the firm.
