Omniome Gets $60M For Gene Sequencing

San Diego-based Omniome, a startup developing a DNA sequencing platform, says it has raised $60M in a Series C financing round, bringing the company's total raised to $145M. The new funding was led by Madrone Capital Partners, and also included ARCH Venture Partners, Decheng Capital, Domain Associates, Biomatics Capital Partners, Altitude Life Sciences Ventures, Nan Fung Life Sciences and others. According to the company, the new funding will go towards late-stage product development and launch planning, with plans to hire across manufacturing, engineering, development, customer support and commercial. The company is led by President and CEO Dave Mullarkey. Omniome says its DNA sequencing platform is "capable of delivering unsurpassed sequencing accuracy". More information »
