Report: Facebook's New Dating Features Driven Out Of LA, By eHarmony Veteran

A report today from TechCrunch said the new dating features announced this week by Facebook are being developed in Los Angeles, by former eHarmony Chief Scientist Steve Carter. According to the report, Carter helped design the psychometric and relationship models that became the basis of eHarmony. It's unclear how large of a team Facebook has working on those features in Los Angeles, however, the city is the home to a large number of companies developing online and mobile dating apps and services, including such services as Tinder, Grindr, Plenty of Fish, eHarmony, Three Day Rule, JDate, and several others.
