Respawn Entertainment Acquired By EA For Up To $455M

Los Angeles-based game studio Respawn Entertainment, best known for its development of the title Titanfall, has been acquired by Electronic Arts, the two said on Thursday afternoon. EA said it will pay $151M in cash, and up to $164M in long term equity to employees, for Respawn, plus up to $140M in performance-based milestone payments--for a deal which could be worth up to $455M. Respawn Entertainment was led by Vince Zampella, and was based in Sherman Oaks. Respawn becomes part of EA's Worldwide Studios organization.
