Entropic Wins Home Entertainment Networking Firm

San Diego-based Entropic Communications is powering a Ethernet-to-coax bridge product from Wistron NeWeb (WNC), a developer of home entertainment networking products, the firm disclosed today. According to Entropic and WNC, Entropic's chip set is being used as part of the product, which allows consumers to connect up to four Internet TVs, Blu-ray Players, game consoles, and other Ethernet-enabled devices via preexisting coax cable, using the MoCA standard. Shipping volumes and expected financial impact of the deal was not disclosed by the firms.
