Section 32 Raises $740M For Fourth Venture Fund

San Diego-based venture capital investment firm Section 32, led by former Google Ventures founder Bill Maris, has raised $740M in its fourth venture capital fund, the company said this morning. According to Section 32, the new fund included investors from philanthropic and non-profit organizations, educational endowments and foundations, and leaders from the technology and healthcare sectors. As part of the new fund, the firm said it has named Nina Labatt as its new Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Labatt was most recently Chief Operating Officer and General Partner at Trinity Ventures; she also served at Silicon Valley Bank and Health Evolution Partners, in addition to time at Goldman Sachs and Montgomery Securities. Section 32's prior investments include Coinbase, Crowdstrike, Relay Therapeutics, and other companies.
