MindSpark Taps Autistic Individuals For Software Testing Workforce

Santa Monica-based startup MindSpark announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its efforts to provide enterprise level, software testing, tapping into a workforce of employees who are specifically on the autism spectrum. According to MindSpark, it specifically hires analysis who have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum, saying those employees have better detail orientation, pattern recognition and sustained focus, which are particularly useful in the software testing area. MindSpark says it currently has more than 30 people serving such clients as Liberty Mutual, Fox Networks Group, Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cast & Crew. The company says it is superior to alternative, offshore software QA providers, both due to time zone and cultural advantages, as well as because its services helps companies meet corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community relations goals.
