A new, Los Angeles startup, Whim , has recently launched, looking to cut the time between mobile contact and a real date--saying that its app make it possible for users to find a person, and get a date the same day. Whim''s app currently works on the mobile web, and the startup said it will soon be releasing an iOS native version.

Not Betting on Flash

We need to deliver on mobile devices in the future. Instead I'm betting on HTML/JavaScript. Reality is that we need that now, but at least we don't need to specifically design for it for now. Do we include Flex or Flash as a delivery technology? That's my bet. I'm not betting that Flash is dead in five years.
