Masimo Backs Medical Device Incubator

Irvine-based patient monitoring products developer Masimo is backing an effort at medical device incubator Edison National Medical, to drive developer interest in its platform, Masimo Root, the company announced today. Masimo said it has tied with Edison Nation Medical--a medical device incubator based in Charlotte, North Carolina--to find new medical technologies to expand its patient monitoring and connectivity platform. Masimo said it is looking to make it easy for third parties to expand its capabilities, by connecting their own measurement devices. The companies did not say what they will provide to companies or individuals who submit their patient monitoring ideas, and the companies are charging $25 each for submissions.
