With billions of stimulus funding, the US government is encouraging national adoption of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. At least $19B will be going into payment to providers for adopting “meaningful use” of “interoperable Electronic health record (EHR) technology.” More is being directed into “Health Information Exchanges” to provide a means for EHRs to communicate.
